These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Lumi, developed by Mikel Dewisme.
Acceptance of the Terms
By downloading, installing or using Lumi, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Licence of use
Mikel Dewisme grants you a limited, non exclusive, non transferable and revocable licence to use Lumi for your personal, non commercial use.
You may:
- Use Lumi for your personal wellbeing.
- Create unlimited journal entries.
- Export your content.
- Use the app on all your Apple devices.
You may not:
- Copy, modify or distribute the app.
- Reverse engineer the code.
- Use the app for unlawful purposes.
- Attempt to access unauthorised systems or data.
- Resell or commercialise the app.
Lumi Pro: subscriptions and purchases
Lumi is free. Lumi Pro is an optional upgrade that unlocks the advanced statistics, the memories filter by emotion and syncing between your devices through your iCloud.
Available plans
- Monthly: a subscription that renews every month.
- Yearly: a subscription that renews every year.
- Lifetime: a one time payment. It does not renew and it is not a subscription.
The price of each plan is shown inside the app before you buy, in your local currency, and includes any applicable taxes. I may change prices in the future; the change never affects a period you have already paid for.
Automatic renewal
- The monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple account is charged within the 24 hours before the start of each new period.
- You can manage or cancel them whenever you want from Settings → your name → Subscriptions, on your own device.
- Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. It has to be cancelled from Settings.
- When you cancel you keep access until the period you have already paid for ends.
Free trial
- Some plans may offer a free trial period. Lumi only advertises it when the App Store confirms your account is eligible.
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription continues and is charged automatically.
- If you buy a subscription during a free trial, any unused part of the trial is forfeited.
Payments and refunds
- All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. I do not handle the payment and I do not see your payment details.
- Refunds are granted by Apple under its own conditions. They are requested at reportaproblem.apple.com, not from me.
- You can restore your purchases at any time from the Lumi Pro screen, using the same Apple account you bought with.
If the subscription ends
- The Lumi Pro features lock, but your entries stay yours and remain on your device.
- Syncing stops being active. Whatever had already been stored in your iCloud stays in your account, under your control.
Responsible use
Lumi is a personal wellbeing tool. It is not:
- A substitute for professional medical care.
- A medical diagnostic tool.
- Therapy or professional advice.
- Treatment for mental health conditions.
If you are experiencing serious mental health problems, seek professional help.
Intellectual property
Mikel Dewisme's
- The code, design, interface and the "Lumi" brand are the property of Mikel Dewisme.
- They are protected by copyright and intellectual property law.
Your content
- You are the sole owner of your journal entries.
- Mikel Dewisme claims no rights over your content.
- Your content stays private and under your control.
Disclaimer
Lumi is provided "as is" and "as available".
I do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error free operation.
- Specific wellbeing outcomes.
- Compatibility with future versions of iOS.
I am not liable for:
- Data loss (making regular backups is recommended).
- Indirect or consequential damages.
- Problems arising from use of the app.
Updates
- I may update Lumi from time to time.
- Updates may include new features or fixes.
- Some updates may require acceptance of new terms.
Termination
You can stop using Lumi at any time by deleting the app.
I may suspend or terminate your access if:
- You breach these Terms.
- You use the app fraudulently or abusively.
- It is required by law.
Changes to the Terms
- These Terms may be modified from time to time.
- I will notify you of significant changes.
- Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
- The "Last updated" date will reflect the changes.
Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Barcelona, Spain.

Final provisions
- If any provision is invalid, the rest remain in force.

This is a translation provided for convenience. Lumi is developed from Spain and the Spanish version of these terms is the one that prevails if the two ever differ.
